Dominican Fiesta Hotel, Santo Domingo

Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, although nostalgic with a 50s vibe, are in desperate need of a modern update. The service was top-notch, especially during check-in and at breakfast with the 'shark taxi'. The location offered a mix of positives and negatives, from being far from everything to having a lovely setting. The dining experience had its highs and lows with a varied buffet but disappointing scrambled eggs. Facilities were functional but fell short in some areas.

Upon arriving at the hotel, I was met with a strong smell of smoke and humidity in the room, which was a bit of a downside. However, the rooms themselves were actually quite good. The service during check-in was professional and attentive, although there was a bit of confusion about the type of booking. The location of the hotel was safe and convenient, with grocery stores and pharmacies nearby. The dining experience, especially during breakfast, was cool, and the facilities like the fitness center and pool area were enjoyable.

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were so good that I preferred ordering room service and staying in, but there were issues with things not working and a slight smell coming from the bathroom pipes. The initial musty smell upon arrival was off-putting, though.
